How To Fully Romanticize Life As Someone In Their 30s

Sometimes, when you don’t have a lot of exciting things going on, life can feel kind of drab. I’ve definitely experienced this at points in my life. The secret to making your life feel more fun and exciting is to romanticize life as someone in their 30s and the appreciate small moments more.

By doing this they feel bigger, and you’ll feel happier. I started doing this in my late twenties. My thirties is all about doing it consistently, no matter what is going on in my life. Today I thought I would share with you some ways that you can also romanticize your life. First let’s break down what that means.

What Does It Mean To “Romanticize Life In Your 30s?”

To me, romanticizing your life is a way of elevating the mundane tasks and common occurrences in your life. It’s a great way to add some excitement and adventure in your life if that is something you are lacking.

Another aspect of romanticizing your life is being mindful in everything you do. Putting a purpose behind tasks that seem boring and drab make them feel more special. Essentially when you romanticize life in your 30s you become the main character in your life. What a beautiful thing to be.

How To Romanticize Life As Someone In Their 30s

Now that you know what it means to romanticize your life, I bet you’re wondering how to do it. I’ve listed a few activities that will bring intentionality into your life, no matter what is going on in your world.

With us being in our thirties it’s important that we take the time to elevate and enhance our daily lives, and practice mindfulness while doing so, here is how we do that.

Cherish Your Sacred Morning Routine

Your morning sets the tone for the day. Do you want to go through your day feeling rushed and stressed or light and happy? By not rushing through your morning routine and treating it as something sacred you will start your day off in a much more positive mood.

In order to do this make sure you wake up early enough so that you give yourself plenty of time. Then be sure you are picking activities that you actually enjoy doing in the mornings. If you know you are a nighttime reader, don’t force yourself to read in the morning.

Create A Hobby Space

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of a hobby place is a reading nook or craft room. Whatever your hobby is, set up a designated space that you go to when you do it.

If you think about it you probably already go to the same place anyways. This is taking it a step further by decorating and setting up the space. In my opinion, this is definitely one of the best ways to romanticize life in your 30s!

Soundtrack Your Life

In recent years I’ve loved creating playlists for different activities that I do. It’s such a fun way to elevate the vibe of whatever you are doing. My favorite ones are the playlists I made for getting ready and the one I made for when I work on my book bullet journal.

You could search for a playlist that matches your situation, but it’s much more personable to create your own playlists. It becomes your own personal soundtrack.

Be Mindful During Your Skincare Routine

Your skincare routine can get, well, routine. It’s easy to just go through the motions as you complete each step. I challenge you to elevate your experience by being more mindful as you are doing your skincare routine.

Focus on how your skin feels during each step, get lost in the scent of each product, and cherish this time you have to care for yourself. Notice how much more enjoyable the routine becomes when you do this.

Practice Gratitude

There are countless benefits to having a gratitude practice, so of course I had to include it here. Gratitude helps your mind frame your life in a more positive light.

When you are focused on looking for things to be grateful for, it gives less time for your mind to think negatively. Showing gratitude and appreciation for the small things is what romanticizing your life is all about.

Make Mealtime An Art

Take your meals up a notch by trying new things and getting fancy in the kitchen. Even if you are just eating for one, put as much effort into your meal as you would if you were planning a dinner party.

Use the nice plates and silverware, decorate your dining room, and set the mood that you want during your meal. This is such a fun and easy way to romanticize life as someone in their 30s.

Buy The Flowers

It doesn’t get more romantic and happy than being surrounded by flowers. I’m a firm believer in not waiting for someone to buy you the flowers when you can buy them yourself.

You shouldn’t deprive yourself of beautiful things because you’re waiting for others. Take a trip to the market, grocery store, or even directly to the flower field to get you some flowers. Display them proudly in your space.

Go On Solo Dates

Solo dates are a great way to romanticize life in your 30s. The more detailed and planned out you make these dates, the more main character you will feel while you are on them.

The first few times you go out on a solo date may feel awkward, but keep trying. Eventually they will be more fun than awkward and you’ll wonder why you didn’t start going on solo dates sooner.

Elevate Your Bath

There are a variety of ways that you can elevate your bath. Some things include lighting candles, putting in a bath bomb/bath salts, decorating your bath with flowers, playing soft music, and more. There are even products like bath trays where you can have things like a glass of wine and a book with you during your bath.

Host A Tea Party/Picnic

Bring your friends in on this romanticized activity(ies). Tea parties and picnics are not everyday occurrences, but they are a great way to slow down, enjoy good food/beverages and great company. Go all out with planning something like this and really make the most of your time.

Plan Regular At Home Spa Days

This is my favorite romanticizing activity to do. I try to do one at least once or twice a month. They are great when you need a day/night of relaxation and pampering, without the cost of going to an actual spa. Get a cute robe, gather up the things you need (like a face mask, lotion, massager, foot bath, nail polish, etc., and get ready to relax.

Revamp Your Closet

Did you know that your wardrobe can be a source to romanticize life in your 30s? If you said yes you would be correct. Whether you want to wear more dresses and long skirts, or add more florals to your closet, there are many ways to romanticize and revamp your fits.

Do A Photoshoot

My last tip to romanticize life as someone in their 30s can be challenging for anyone that isn’t comfortable in front of a camera. Doing a photoshoot is such a fun activity that is away from the norm of everyday life.

If you are able to do one, take the opportunity. If you don’t know any photographers, don’t worry, you can have a small photo shoot via your cell phone. Both ways can be fun.
